Richard L. Beynon is President and an owner of Beynon & Company, Incorporated. With more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate field, he obtained his Pennsylvania salesman’s license in 1982 and his broker’s license in 1992. He was appointed President and COO in 2000 and is responsible for overseeing of the real estate division, insurance division, and property management division at Beynon & Company.
Mr. Beynon’s main Focus is in the sales and leasing of office, investment, and commercial property. Over the years he has specialized in the assemblage of a number of properties for different corporations. He has also purchased and developed properties for different investment partnerships.
Richard Beynon graduated from Wittenberg University which is ranked as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the mid-eastern United States. He majored in business administration with a concentration in real estate, and a minor in sociology.
Mr. Beynon has also been an instructor of commercial real estate through the Realtors Education Institute and an instructor for the Institute’s Program for continuing education as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania teaching both ethics and commercial real estate classes.
Richard Beynon has provided professional expertise and consulted as an expert witness and other consulting assignments to include the strategy and implementations of acquisition for a major Utility Company, strategic planning as an outside consultant for the City of Wheeling, WV; Centre County; 3 Springs Road, W.V.; RT 8 master plan corridor, Kelly Facility, a government army base; and Riverview Business Park in Mount Union, PA.
Board of Directors
Richard Beynon is past Chairman of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and currently still serves on their Executive Committee, and on the Board of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, as well as holding many other committee chair seats. He has completed terms on the board of Directors of the Benedum-Trees Building Condominium Association, the Realtors Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, and the Realtors Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation. Mr. Beynon is currently Chair of the Foundation Board for Wesley Spectrum Services and chaired the Golf Committee raising the most money for the event to date. Mr. Beynon was on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Executives Association, and he is a member, past president, and former Board Director of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Pittsburgh. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Old St. Luke’s Church and (YEO)Young Executives Organization, and is a member of (TAB)The Alternative Board.
Richard Beynon has chaired and served on many committees for the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, such as the Business Improvement District, Clean & Safe Committee, Wi-Fi task force, Safety Ambassador Program, and Office and Retention task force. He has also reinstituted the Day of Skiing Fundraising for the Young Life Organization event. Mr. Beynon is active in helping Wesley Spectrum Services, Young Life, Whale’s Tale, the Women’s Center and Shelter of Pittsburgh, ARC Allegheny, the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, and fundraising for the American Cancer Society.
Richard Beynon was a Wesley Spectrum Services Honoree of the year, and a finalist for the St Barnabas Leadership award, and was awarded the 2015 Diamond Award by Pittsburgh Business Times, which honors Pittsburgh’s top executives. Most recently, he received Pittsbugh Downtown Partnership’s Chairman award during their annual meeting.
